Availability: In Stock Have you ever been to a small jazz club with an intimate setting? Small round cocktail tables, small stage, dimly lit room and dope jazz. Well this is what this album reminds me of. Instead of a jazz singer, you have John Robinson smoothin out on the mic. To me his lyrics sound more like spoken word over jazz with hip hop kicks and swing. Definitely an album to mellow and cool out too. There are a lot of jazzy hip hop records out there. Most that I've heard sound more like hip hop with jazz samples. This record hands down reminds me more of 60s jazz record with hip hop samples if that makes any sense. Production mainly by J.Rawls with the assistance from B-Jazz, Rob Riley and Rashad. DJ Rhettmatic makes an appearance on the cuts on a track as well. Big ups to J. Rawls again for another hip hop jazz classic. I won't be surprised if this one flies under the radar. A very grown man's hip hop sound. 1. A Lesson From Trane 2. It's Jay ARE 3. Know U feat.
