Many of you may know Paul Dateh as the violinist on the youtube video with inka one, at least that's how I first heard of him. I met Mr. Dateh a few weeks ago in SD doing a performance with Nosaj Thing. We ended up chillin afterwards and I was able to pick up a CD for the site. After doing a little googling on Dateh, I learned he is classically trained and attended the Thornton School of Music at USC. I wasn't sure what to expect before the CD, since I've only personally heard the youtube vid. The CD is actually more on the vocal, jazz, soul, ballad, rock, hip hop tip. If you are expecting hip hop beats with Dateh ripping it, this is not that CD. After listening to the CD, I have a new appreciation for Dateh's all around muscianship and songwriting. My favorite track is track 10, yeah... I'm a softy.
